After graduating from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Ryota Shintani worked for Nomura Research Institute, SoftBank Robotics, and BCG Digital Ventures. He joined JAFCO in June 2023. In the Industry-Academia Life Science Investment Group of the Investment Division, he is in charge of sourcing portfolio companies, executing investments, and providing post-investment support services mainly for R&D-type startups in the engineering and biotechnology fields. He is a Certified Member Analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

I believe in the high level of Japan's technological capabilities, and I hope to contribute to their implementation in society from a venture capital standpoint. With this in mind, I am not only investing in startups but also focusing on activities related to company creation and industry-academia collaboration ecosystems.
